When the company loses enough money, they will make adjustments, or the company will fail. It's that simple. If they care, they will fix it. If people aren't willing to work, they probably aren't being offered enough money, or the employees are treated poorly, either way resulting in attrition. Same solution applies. The company will fix it if they want to, or they will go under.
As an assistant manager for burlington I can assure you it's frustrating for us as well. But only are we not getting applicants but we are VERY limited on the hours we can use for the registers. We feel your dissatisfaction, but there is very little we can do.
Go somewhere else and go shopping you, you will experience the same thing. People do not want to work!
