Hi, I'm Bill Wolfe's youngest child. I'm a writer; the name you see attached here is my pen name, not my actual name. I grew up in (and loved) Monroe until I was 13, when my father died aged 61. He grew up with 13 siblings on a successful dairy farm in Massachusetts. He was a Tree Surgeon, killed December 31, 1970, in a tree-work accident - after which, sadly, we moved away from Monroe. He was a botanist, wildlife encyclopedia, tree expert, orchardist, land conservationist. We lived in Stepney on a wonderful piece of land where we grew and sold pumpkins, Christmas trees, apples, cider, raspberries, and, long before my time, turkeys. Lots of turkeys. :) My Dad was a Scout leader, Eagle Scouts/Explorer. He served on the Monroe Conservation Commission; under his tenure the 116 semi-wild acres of Great Hollow were saved from housing development, not an easy task. The Town of Monroe renamed the then-empty, natural land for him following his death. Thank you for asking about him.
Google him or check with the town librarian...
