Why do the scoops of ice cream vary in size? Always order on a sugar cone, two scoops. Sometimes it's tiny like kiddie size, other times good healthy amounts

Good morning Joe, Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you that getting consistency in our sizes from staff member to staff member and store to store is a constant issue. Our sizes should be as follows, Kiddie 4 oz, Small 8 oz and large 12 oz (no less). What tends to happen is we over-scoop. When this happens and the next time a customer comes in they may get a cone that is smaller than their last. When the store is busy, we do try to move quickly in order to serve customers as efficiently as possible so no one has to wait too long. I know personally , when this happens there is a tendency to over-scoop (and at times under-scoop) as we are rushing a bit. We emphasize proper sizing every season and throughout the season but in our 25 years I can tell you it is always a challenge. When training new staff I always tell them that if they are going to make a mistake, please make it too big versus too small. (answer continued ) - guess I've reached the max characters!
