4dx is basically 3D upgraded but it's 4D. It's like you're actually there. It has motion chairs and if something happens during the movie like an explosion you would feel the vibration and if water is splashed you will feel sprinkles on you it gives you the real experience as if you are there
4DX movies feature moving seats, wind, lightening flashes, and water(optional) to really enhance the movie experience. Instead of just a regular seat to watch a movie, you get a much better experience that makes you feel like you were in the movie. If you are going to see an action movie, it's totally worth it.
Basically 3d with moving chairs and surround sound and sometimes extra stuff like air blasting.
