I don't know if you can get a card but regardless the guidelines you are given specifically say you can't take it across state lines, on vacation or for any other reason. If you are in another state then the NJ law doesn't apply and even if they have medicinal or recreational programs it doesn't protect you because it's not currently reciprocal between states. You certainly couldn't go through an airport or anywhere with federal security like TSA. To drive anywhere you would almost certainly have to cross a state that doesn't allow marijuana. At minimum it's just not worth the risk. An out of state officer could easily hold you for possession and crossing state lines. Even if you got through it without conviction it wouldn't be good and a drug charge can result in expulsion from the NJ program...

I'm not sure, although they told me that if I should be in another state I could get an emergency supply from them to hold me over as long as they had medical marijuana. I hope it helps you
