We are senior citizens and have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, in fact usually just a minute or two. Maybe just a busy day/time?
We live 70 miles from the nearest Granite City and enjoy eating there a few times a year. We have always called ahead and have never had to wait for more than several minutes. They do have busy times and busy days. Always great food and beer.
You have to look at the bar charts on Google, for peak times. Then plan accordingly. I've had three children and one grandchild and have been too many restaurants, planning is the key.
It's a busy place
I think anyone who doesn't let a pregnant woman sit down, is a jerk, unfortunately you can't blame the restaurant for that. I find for me and I don't mean this meanly, it could work for you, too, that dinner hours in restaurants in that area, such Granite City, Chili's BWW, especially on Friday night can get busy. Honestly, I'm saying this with the best intentions, Chili's might be just as busy, but at least if you belong to their email club, they have free kids meals and are better suited those with young kids. Most people on a Friday night, even though GCFB has some good food, it's specializes as brewery, so you are getting a lot of couples and younger people. I'm not judging your choice to go there, just saying that unfortunately, it's too bad that no adult thought to give up there seats in their small waiting room for a pregnant woman and young children....
It shouldn't, but Granite City is not what it use to be. Service and food quality has decreased to sub standard.
