I'm thinking about re-enrolling with Planet Fitness, since canceling my membership because of COVID-19. What measures are being use since COVID-19 to reduce the spread of the gym virus in the gym?

Hi! We have always prided ourselves on providing a safe, clean and high-quality experience with extensive, cleaning and sanitation policies. You can still expect that, as well as the following enhancements and changes: • Touchless Check-In: simply scan your Planet Fitness app (pla.fit/app) at the front desk. In order to do this, you’ll need to download our app in advance if you don’t have it already. In addition to a touch-less check-in experience, our app also puts the gym in your pocket with over 500 workouts at your fingertips. • Physical distancing, some pieces of cardio equipment will be temporarily out of use to create additional space. You’ll notice new signage around the club that helps to explain the measures we’re taking to keep our club clean and our members healthy. We will also continue to follow the recommendations of local authorities to take every necessary precaution to ensure the safety of our community and some locations will adhere to additional safety measures.

They have social distancing by machines being out of service that are directly next to one another. Also everyone gets a cleaning bottle upon entry to wipe down machines when they finish using them.also when not working out most people still walk around with mask on and I personally keep mine on throughout my work out, even though it's not required. I hope this helps.

They have a list of social distancing guidelines. They have blocked off 60% of the machines with the purpose of promoting social distancing. You are required to wear a mask the whole time you are in the gym/locker rooms. And they hand out spray bottles of sanitizer that are themselves sanitized between uses. You are required to spray down machines before and after use, but not leave them dropping wet. They also spray machines down with antiviral spray called Microban. I have seen them doing it first thing, super early in the morning, when I go in. I would still suggest going early (before 7am during the week, before 8am on weekends,) or late any day, to avoid crowds. Because people are selfish. No matter how much signage and how many posted rules, people will still ignore things. As with most places after this year+ long pandemic, people have gotten tired of the mask wearing and constant hand washing. But the employees try their best to keep on top of people.
