They're not taking any steel right now just aluminum and I asked them if they would take my old central air unit the one that sits outside and they said they'd take the copper that's inside of it. so sorry I can't give you a definitive answer so assume they don't take the whole unit, but you might want to call them, and ask the only thing I saw on the list that was over a dollar was I guess it's called copper number one I guess it's the best copper the cleanest copper you can bring them everything else was under a dollar a pound it's pretty pathetic, prices are really bad. Sorry I didn't give you a for-sure answer. They take Christmas lights that surprised the hell out of me I had no clue . I've never been to a recycling joint that took Christmas lights they had all kinds of odds and ends there don't ask me to remember what it was, but I remember the Christmas lights ..LOL
Hi Scott, we are a Non-Ferrous recycling Plant. We do not take the whole units as the whole unit would be considered steel, in which we do not take in steel. It is best for you to take it apart as you will get a better return on it, i.e. the copper #2 the coil, and other parts it the unit. More and more places are stopping the steel intake due to the price of it, or I should say the lack of price. The nearest place to go that can handle large amounts in in Rockledge. They have a much larger yard than us and can handle larger items.
