Tickets are free but required for crowd control. The museum is very popular. If there were no tickets there would be too many people in the building which would create health and safety issues. Not to mention the public would not be able to fully take in all the wonderful exhibits if the crowds were too large.
Entry into the museum is free; however, you must obtain a free daily ticket by accessing the museum's website each morning at 6:30am. All tickets are usually taken within minutes due to the museum's popularity. You may also get advanced tickets the first Wednesday of each month via the website at 6:30am. These tickets are projected out at least one month in advanced.
Free entry
Tickets become available on the website at 6:30 a.m, and military vets and active duty personnel get precedence.
