Yes, military veterans and law enforcement receive priority entry. I believe ID may be requested.

They did ask if any of my party were law inforcement or miltary to bypass the line. Also the lines as bad as they were when the miseum first opened.

I doubt it. If you getting tickets you must get them 3 months in advance. If not, you must stand in line with many ppl to get in. But after 1 or 2pm you can just go in but you won't have much time because if you park on the streets all cars must be moved by 4pm. My suggestions is get tickets for 10 am (3 months in advance) and spend as much time as you want in the museum and keep adding money in the meter until 4pm. I got tickets and my friend got tickets for the next day.
