Tell your girl to bring her BIG purse and fill that with your snacks.
When I go to Showtime, I go to the 1:15 and 4:15 showings - those are matinee times. I buy two tickets for $14. Then go to the counter and get a lg drink, lg popcorn, pretzels & cheese and only pay another $14. So my whole trip to this theater is under $30 whereas Regal and AMC I will be spending $24 on tickets alone. So no - the snacks are not expensive. :)
Actually in comparison to other big name brand theatres they are not so bad here.

We usually get a large popcorn, which you can refill once, and a large drink for like $9.00.

Not horrible. I get the large amd split it up with tje kids and then get the free refill. Candy is like any other theater.
