The Big Mac cannot ASSUME everybody in the world wants ketchup,.They Know you want BEEF on your hamburger but not everybody wants ketchup. So just be nice and ask for what you want! It's no big deal!
Simply because some people may not want ketchup so they assume you wouldn't want it, but its a minor inconvenience so don't worry.
Because ketchup cost money.
