is trader Joe's a very expensive store to shop

I agree with Allison. The food there is better quality than Walmart. I myself feel like i get better values there than Walmart but it depends on the items. I love going to TJs because it doesn't feel like a giant warehouse like Walmart does. It feels more personal especially the people. Lol... And they typically have more cashiers open than Walmart so you can get in and out quickly. I also love the variety. One of my favorite things to get are the chilie lime chicken burger patties! Yum and they are healthier than beef.

Not really. Their lower selection keeps stocking prices reasonable. It's not going to be Walmart cheap but I find it to be priced similar to Kroger. The difference being I usually come out of Trader Joe's with better food. Their meat is sometimes more expensive but it's usually the better cuts so... That seems reasonable to me. Their wine on the other hand is usually cheaper than your typical grocery store for the exact same brands and they have a lovely variety of cheese.

I agree with Lynn—there are lots of affordable items here, it just depends on what you buy. Their store-brand items (often the only version of somethijng they'll have) are also a much higher quality than what you're used to from other stores. As a family or 4 currently, we've compared quite a bit and found that on average our bill is a little less at TJ's—but we'll usually make it stretch a little further by getting most of our list here but a handful of cheaper staples at Walmart

Not at all. Healthy options at an affordable price. You might not find EVERYTHING you are looking for here but I would say prices to some items here will beat your local bigger chains.

They are cheaper on some things and a bit pricey on others. The best thing about them is that the quality is superior.

Many of their items are VERY affordable and you can get great deals on wine. Their bakery items are delicious and a good price. Just browse and see what they have, some things are cheaper at a regular store but others much cheaper and better at Trader Joe's.
