Yes, the city mission has food to give away. On your first time visit, an emergency bag (pre-bagged with canned good, fresh produce and, if available 1 package of meat) of hope will be given. If you choose to continue to receive bags of hope, an application will need to be completed. To complete the application, proof of income, proof of residency and number of members in the household. Once the application is completed, a bag of hope can be picked up every Saturday between 830 and 1030am except for the 1st Saturday of every month. Right now, bag lunches are given out between 830 and 12 noon Tuesday thru Saturday.
City Mission does carry a emergency food bag service of donated foods. You can apply for this food bag Tuesday through Saturday, between 8:00 am--2:00 pm. The food bag is only available on Saturdays starting around 8:30am to 11:00 pm. There are no meals served on the weekends. Currently, Tuesday through Saturday, we offer a sack lunch at 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. It is a "to go" sack lunch.
