It depends on how you are acquiring the gift card. The only way I know of to "get" a gift card from my credit union is to cash in my credit card rewards points. If that is what you are trying to do, I am pretty sure there is no fee. Why not ask someone at your bank or credit union? Different banks and credit unions may have different incentive programs. You are certain to get the most accurate answer from them.
I'm not sure but they probably do they like fees for almostI have just recently left and went to a major bank they fulfill my needs and don't charge me fees for being over 62
