It's 8min by car from North Harbor club to Birkdale village where you can enjoy little shopping and great restaurants, coffee shops;) I'm from NYC and every time I'm there i love it!!!
There are a couple little storefronts next door, and Davidson is across the bridge ~1 mile with a quaint downtown with a small college town feel.
During the summer one or two shops open but Birkdale village has way better shopping
