I would say an hour. If youre getting food or drinks that takes awhile.
Most often, if its a normal movie, its easy to get a good seat as long as you come at least 5 - 10 minutes early. For something that is like Avengers though, I'd show up 45 - 60 minutes early just to be safe.
At least an hour I like to go around hour and half to be safe!
Give yourself about an hour for a popular movie and 10-15 min. If its not !
It is first come first served. Be there early enough to get your food and drink and get your seat once the theater is cleaned and open for your film.
I always went an hour ago, take nachos and sit one one of the couches behind.

Open seating, first come, first serve, I've been there when it was busy, I've never had a problem getting a good seat, get there early, have a drink and something to eat. Enjoy the experience.
