Groups are fun if you are separated which can happen just wait at the end of the of the theme encounter you're in to catch up. It is highly unlikely you'll ever be separated the entire experience. The place doesn't work that way
I don't think they limit it, but you do get separated quite a lot so prepare to not see your friends frequently
