I think that's normal for any cat. Both of mine cough up fur balls at least once a month. Sounds and looks disgusting but normal and natural.
Take the cat to the vet. Sometimes is ok, but all the time is not ok.
A dab of Vaseline on the nose to help them move the hairball up. Lots of brushing if long hair.
