Would this be a good 5th grade field trip? Would it be engaging enough to hold a 10-11 year old's attention?

The subject came up 0n face book about memories of Nashville and the response to the old museum was overwhelming from people's childhood memories. Now the old museum was dark and poorly lit but was full of the most interesting things. Some of which stuck in the minds of kids who are now senior citizens. Don't deny any young man or woman the this opportunity.

Yes it definitely is a good 5th grade field trip. Love the TN State museum. I think I was in 4th grade the first time I went.

I would say so. When I visited there were 4 or 5 field trips of that grade range also in the museum.

Oh yes. Even my 17 year old teenager was more interested in the museum displays than his cell phone
