Yes it is but Hwy 49 is closed for several weeks I believe. U might want to call mariposa co. to be sure of when the road will open up again.

My daughter has been there since friday, she didn't say anything about road being closed. I'm going up tomorrow to stay till Thursday. They must have opened the road . I should say highway 49, cause that's the way they went up off 140, then followed 49 rest of wayiiì
I was up there yesterday for a day of recreation. Had no trouble getting there South Hwy 49 coming from Coulterville. Campgrounds were open and we saw a ranger cleaning up and mowing. There were reservation placards with dates from the weekend prior. We had the whole place to ourselves on a Tue. It was peaceful and quiet. Fish jumping and a bald eagle harassing a couple of other large birds who appear to be nesting across the canyon from campgrounds. Go enjoy!
Hwy 49 is now closed until May 23, not a County road, call caltrans for info or call MID, best guess is that the campground is closed until the hwy opens
Yes, it is! The road is closed until May 12th. Unless further repair is required, they may extend that date.
