Louis, thanks for that great information. My wife doesn't want to move to DW, so that decision is easy. I play in the VSGA tournaments in Virginia. It's the closest thing one will have for true golf competition. Does SC have a similar organization?
I live near by carolina lakes (4 miles) and play it two or three times a year. Its a nice track with a country club feel. However, there are so MANY courses near by that you have to experience. Edgewater, Lancaster cc, fort mill cc and wateford which is owned by the caolina panters. Wateford is completing a multi million dollar re modeling. You must play it!! If I am not mistaken, fort mill, tega cay, Springfield have an affiliation if you join a yearly program they discount green and cart fees. Also, just across the state line in N.C. there are 15 courses within 20 miles you can play! All fabulous courses! Old sycamore is pricy, but WOW what a track it is! Also near by old sycamore you have carolina national links, it's a true links style course and emerald lakes. My suggestion, go out and play as many of the courses as you can and then decide if you want to just join carolina lakes. I promise, you will enjoy having the option of playing more than just one. Welcome to great golf!
Thank you for your interest in Carolina Lakes Golf Club. There is an advantage to being a resident of Sun City when it comes to accessibility to the golf course and membership. Please call the golf shop (803) 547-9688 ext. 2 for further details. Our staff would be glad to assist you.
