Per our Curator: Smith Street was named for Mary "Polly" Smith, wife of Michael Gaffney. A portion of Smith Street was renamed Floyd Baker Blvd in the 1960s, not sure what year, exactly. Before being named Smith Street, it was referred to as Church Street. Brian is very knowledgeable about these things and probably has access to the actual newspaper announcement so, since curator is within 2 yrs of Brian's answer and isn't sure of the year, I'm going with Brian's answer.
