I don't own a Mini yet, but is there a specific reason why you would need a new key ,because it's a mini?

My key went out my car wouldnt start I had to get it towed to mini dealership the key was 250 had to program it back to my car. The key wasn't doing nothing when I put it in I thought I needed a jump that didn't work the radio came on the Windows roll up and down that it. I miss my Camry more reliable car it was flooded out in Texas I hate Texas u will lose everything there. I broke my neck getting out of that filthy state Good luck with your Mini they are made to make money repaid a lot get a brand new one with a warranty mine is a 2012 my thermostat went out 400 I had a oil leak 500 now I got another oil leak coming on , they all are like that money takers People be in the editing area mad my first day I ask what was wrong with them they stayed they though mini was doing something to their car to keep them coming back One lady said that chair she was sitting in had her name on it. Not sure what question is but Mini should give you 2 FOB's, which is the remote that starts/unlocks\locks car. They are a rubber/plastic button with lead sotter that wear out over time. Super over priced at dealership, you can find online cheaper. A new one should get you at least 1 year warranty from dealer, but dealers want to make money not give you free stuff. Good luck and hope I answered question.

I have just one key and never have I needed a spare one. Mini is one of the best cars in the world. Very reliable, comfortable, lots of interior space. Mine has 7 years/90k+ miles on it and is running like new. If you're in the market for a Mini, just go for it!
