I have been in N.Y. 5 days and beeTimen to Carmine 4 time. You better off make a reservation, but really even if you don't have one , go to the bar have a drink . Enjoy your drink , meet people talk stories, take pictures. Go upstairs. The staff is great from the doorman to the busboy. The food..... Out of this world. Going back next month on my way back home. Yes, don't expect to be seated without a reservation, not because they won't, but because it's usually busy. You may be able to squeeze into the bar and eat, but don't count on it.

For your convenience it's best to book a table by calling ahead cos they usually have a wait turbid at least 1 hour. And oh, their food is really large like family size large so you might wanna go with a couple of friends too. Enjoy!
