I didn't do it but we were 2 people and we were attended to right away. I suggest that if they go to more people, book it.

For dinner, definitely! Usually a couple of days in advance. I walked in twice for lunch with no reservation. If dinner reservation not possible and you are nearby, walk-in for 2 persons is possible at bar or high table.
