I am told it depends on the show. I think calling the Xfinity might be your best bet. Maybe the website might help. look up Xfinity theater Hartford... I think it's a live Nation site.
Every venue that i've been to recently has adopted a very strict clear bag only policy. My wife and I saw lots of angry ladies having to go back to their cars or throw out their purses/ clutches in the past few months. I would check with security prior to getting in line if you can.
Usually yes it should be fine but you should check the Xfinity Theatre website for the day of your event. Since you're going on Saturday this will pertain to you. For example for 7/13/2019 Wiz Khalifa concert: PLEASE NOTE: No Backpacks/Bags Allowed For This Show At the request of the Hartford Police Department and for safety purposes, no backpacks or bags will be allowed into the Xfinity Theatre for the Wiz Khalifa concert. Guests can bring items in a small clutch purse no bigger than 4.5” x 6.5” (about the size of an iPhone) or a clear plastic bag (either a clear tote or a 1-gallon zip lock freezer bag). An exception will be made for medically necessary items, which are subject to proper inspection by security
I was allowed to bring in a backpack. The security check was very quick, and the people were nice. I can't remember if my girlfriend brought her purse in. I believe it depends on the show.
