If you don't mind walking a block or two from the metered parking then it is available. As for free parking, make sure you come early in the day on weekends. During the week parking close to the park - - - you will be taking a risk. Not just for a parking ticket - but also for being towed away. It might be best to park in the nearby Parking Garage.
