You don't need an appointment. You just need to get there NOT within an hour of closing time (so earlier than that).
I don't recall a need for an appointment to attain such a fitting either.
Technically you dont need an appointment I think. Just come in and ask to try them on. Not sure how wide is the range of the piontes they have. If they don't have your style or size you can go to capezio or repetto - they have everything and no appointment needed as well.
