Take the #1 IRT to 231st street and transfer to the BX 7 or BX 10 to 252nd street. Then walk about 3 blocks west to the entrance. You can also go to Grand Central and take Metro North to Riverdale. Wave Hill in the past had a pickup bus from that station, but verify that it's still available.
Or you take Metro North to Riverdale and walk uphill to Wave Hill.
Take the 1 train to 231st Street. Exit on to Broadway, then take the Bx7 bus for nine stops to West 252nd Street. Wave Hill is a short walk, well-signposted. It’s a bit of a trek, but well worth it!
