Depends on what time of year you come. If during yellow fly season you will need something, preferably with the chemical “picaridin” in it as that is the only thing we have found that works. We sell in the gift shop or bring with you.

We did not need bug spray at all. Just went a week ago.
Not only is bug spray essential, I would recommend buying the bug spray I Has there in the visitor center. I can't remember the name of it it certainly is the national brand at all but it worked incredibly well with the biting yellow flies. I can't imagine being more miserable and having a long sleeves long pants and no bug spray!
No ticks or fleas but the biting yellow flies were pretty bad it does warn you on the outside before you go in they recommend bug spray! I wouldn't recommend long pants or long sleeves it is really hot this time of year!
I would definitely wear bug spray. We went in February so the bugs weren't too much of an issue.
