They (six flags) are currently trying to sell 2017 (this year ) season passes at a discounted rate. They are not valid for 2018 but include fright fest and holiday in the park for this year (2017). Sometime in September passes for the next year (2018) go on sale and are usually less expensive compared to later on in their season.
Six flags is having a flash sale August 31 - September 4 online.

I have never been to six flags at this time of the year. Bought tickets for this sunday but not sure if its too scary for my 6 yr old. Or is fright fest a seperate thing?
