No you dont.. I recommend that once you get down on the sand. Deflate your tires down to about 8 psi... Sound like not alot of air but believe me i was raised in Oceano and its a must to not getting stuck... Watch others cross the creek before you do so you can see how deep it is and where the shallows are... Go..have a blast..
Nope, allot of people take little car's with no 4x4, and in case you get stuck, there's plenty of people to help you, that's one thing I like about Sand dunes, every body try to help each other! So go and have some fun!
Air down first, but if your rig is heavy at all best to have 4X4
4 x 4 is advisable, especially pulling a trailer but if you know what your doing you can do it. But you might need someone to pull you up out of the high tide area if you are planning on camping the night.
When towong anything with weight, tuen yes 4x4. If you ha e quads and dirtbikes int he trailer yoi cannunload and ride them into the soft fluffy sand. Air down the tires to get a lot more traction in the sand. Single best piece of advice.. ~15psi.
