It depends on which phone you call. There is at least one phone available to patients on each unit. The phone is shared between them. If a patient answers and says a patient isn't there, the person you're trying to reach most likely is in a different unit. Try a different number to get to the nurse's station. They will give you the most accurate information and be able to tell the patient to call you if they are there.
