Thanks for your question. As Erick said, there are many mitigating factors, but here are the basics. Data recovery starts at $400 and goes up from there if necessary. If it is not worth $400, you probably don't want to move forward with data recovery. Sometimes it is just the enclosure that has failed and not the hard drive inside. In these cases we would bounce it out of the DR Lab and back to a technician who can transfer the data at a much lower cost.
