Why is it that the whole museum was not given access to us. Very disappointed with it. I watch Ghost Adventures all the time. Thinking now it might be fake. I have had encounters with the paranormal. Don't make me pay $90 for nothing.

Not really sure what was going on when you get fitted but on my visit the entire museum with exception of the basement was open

When I went last Fall, we saw everything with the exception of the basement. That was fine by me. I hate basements. There is nothing fake about it. While I was waiting in the line, I felt someone really close on me. Then I felt a slight tap on my right arm. I also had these weird scratches on my left arm. And when I went into that doll room, I got so sick. It felt like my heart was going explode. The last strange thing to happen was when Peggy said goodbye to me. I left that room so fast.

The basement was recently off limits, probably still is. They say its for your own protection but then they give you the option to stand in front of lugosi's mirror and spend time with the dybbuk box. There's a point in the tour where you can touch the railing to the basement's stairs but that's it. I enjoyed the tour though. I liked looking at the old antiques and seeing unique items with historical significance. Yes it would have been even nicer to go into the basement too, but you do get to see a lot in the 2 hours that you're in there. It would have also been nicer if it was a little slower paced and longer. We rushed through the carnival rooms so fast that we didn't have enough time to look at everything. If you really want to see the basement then I'd suggest just calling beforehand to check that it's open. The tour is already long and jam packed with stuff though so I think it was still good without it.

I don't remember anything being off limits when we were there but maybe they are renovating. The only thing I picked up a vibe on was the Dracula room. Béla Ferenc Dezső Blaskó I think is still chilling watching and waiting 😁.

They gave reasons in the tour as to why you couldn't go into the basement. It's also for your own protection. Don't really need ignorant and careless people messing with Peggy, or the Scandinavian man and getting themselves or others hurt.
