Being a former Loisiana resident, I am with you, but the northwest is hashbrown territory I'm afraid.
I definitely come from the south I lived in good ole bama if you like grits they definitely have to stay in the south. I've had "grits" from the north and it's like the biscuits and gravy you get in the north horrible. I have found a few spots that surprised me on how they cook there grits but it's few and far between. I miss some good biscuits and gravy from Jacks maybe one day it will reach us but till then only dreams
