Ok, all I've heard about North and South Carolina is the snake population. We are making reservations and am wondering if we will encounter any in your campground? I've never seen a big snake in nature so am quite nervous after all the stories I have hear

I have been to south point several times for years now and haven't seen one . Its a very active and clean place thats well groomed . Not a snake friendly place .

As is typical of subtropical and/or coastal environmental life, from VA around to TX, are elements of nature including snakes. However, in the nearly 40 years as owners of Point South KOA there have been few sightings or issues. We continually do our best due diligence including keeping the grounds and perimeter mowed as well as snake away if needed around gardens and cabins. Like every region, (bears in the smokies, moose in the NE, etc) there is an inherent risk to life and travel for us all. We hope this helps allay your concerns and that you enjoy your time traveling through the beautiful Lowcountry of SC. Jennifer ~

I am 47. Been in NC since I was 8. I have seen more snakes in one visit in a zoo than in the wildlife.we have 2 snakes that can hurt you. Rattlesnake, and anything in the copperhead family. I am NOT an expert in this field. But in 39 years here I have never been bitten.
