There is a large, free parking lot just across the street from the main beach access. It has never been full when we have gone.
Went here for the first time a couple days ago and there was a large free parking lot off the road before you get to the dead end. Hard to miss.
I just rented a bike and was alowwed to park there
There is a large parking lot before the circle on the right side of the road this is free beach parking and the beach is free also.
If you want privacy like we did you will not like it. But there is a free lot on right when heading east to the beach..... we ended up going to Dafuskie island and it was great

Free parking lot will fill up during popular times(weekends and holidays). It is by far the most popular public access on Hilton Head, but not thd only one.
The free parking does fill up fast on weekends. The one we use is across the traffic circle from the main access. We get there around 10 and it's almost full.
The earlier you get there the better. There is an overflow parking lot that is usually open unless there is an event going on. It was full a couple of weekends ago due to an event.
