What do I need to get a 10-day temp plate so I can have a vehicle inspected & then apply online for a renewal registration? The current registered owner of the vehicle is recently deceased but I have the proof of ins. & a copy of their license.

The vehicle may not need an inspection. When you title the vehicle in your name the title clerk can tell you weather it needs inspection or not. If you do need a temp tag you will have to have your NCDL $10 for the tag and $5.00 cash for the notary.

You’re probably okay to go get an inspection without needing a temp plate. I’m not too educated so definitely just call The DMV to get your answer. Hope for the best!
