Yes, there are many small birds that visit and possibly reside in the store and garden center. I have seen some display the knowledge of how to activate the automatic doors.
Yes, they like the seed products especially packaged in plastic. They have learned to enter and exit the store through the large lumber bay doors which are often open. Occasionally a hawk will come in and totally destroy the seed area!

Some staff members were using brooms to smash them out of the air. Killed almost all of them it was horrible
I moved within the past year to the area from South Dakota, and it's not uncommon for a bird to get into a large store Especially if they have a large door that's left open on the loading Bay or in the case of a hardware store, a large outdoor area that leads directly into the store. They can usually find some food and a place to sleep, and in the case of further up north, it can be a lifesaver in the extreme cold.
