I assume el pollo loco made a burrito incorrectly for a drive thru customer. They gave her a corrected burrito but asked for the old burrito back and it looked disgusting.. I'm not sure what this restaurant does with food customers give back to them

I can understand checking to see what happened for quality control improvements, but any good store will offer to let you keep both and/or offer something else free of charge as a courtesy for extra time & gas spent. FYI, most incorrect drive-thru orders go uncorrected because most customers don't feel it's worth their time to return for small errors, so it's actually valuable to the business itself when people do make the effort as it provides new stats that can be analyzed to make employee changes, and even adjust inventory & menus, etc. I mention this because so many customers don't feel comfortable asking for free courtesy items if not offered by inattentive employees. Don't feel weird asking for a free desert or side... your doing that store a favor by giving them a chance to redeem themselves. TLDR: Businesses literally save $$$ AND build goodwill by giving you free food ;) * Learned above when looking into franchise ownership

Don't order drive thru so don't know

Maybe they wanted to see if it was the incorrect burrito or just another customer wanting to take advantage. If I get an order incorrect I talked back to them and get the right one, if they decided that I should keep the incorrect as well I will.
