Never been to Silvias but love Amy Ruth's each and every time I'm in NY.
I feel the same way things have changed over the years not as good as before if you are familiar with its pass style of cooking .
I visited Sylvia's a year ago and the service was friendly, but slow and the food was great! Amy Ruth's service was not a pleasant one. The chicken was nice and crispy, but needed some seasoning. Perhaps their dinner menu is better. I choose Sylvia because of the descent service and the chicken was seasoned well.
I got burnt greens and white people's crunchy stringbeans with no seasoning and am not sure It's African American owned anymore. All the cooks are white and the servers west Indian. I didn't see any AA's in there. Disappointed.
The service is slow at Amy Ruth's but the food is awesome its worth the wait
Amy Ruth's has phenominal chicken and waffles. The service is mediocre but the food is worth it.
Amy Ruth has some good chicken that's what I had when I went there
