There are people who work there who care, and people who don't, it's a horrible place for a dog to end up, save as many as you can coz they'd rather kill than save
Its better to just go there, they rarely answer calls or emails. This is my experience with them. Also the big burly guy I believe he is the dog catcher, he isn't very nice at all.
I think the animal control people are sometimes out in the field and just stop back at the pound throughout the day. When I went there happened to be an animal control guy there on 'light duty' but I had to wait for another person to return to the pound to help me actually adopt my dog.
I don't think anyone is there on the weekends, you definitely should go in person.
