FYI to everyone who wants to try this restraunt, donโ€™t. The service is terrible and the food is even worse. The rice tasted like it was 2 days old, the shawarma tasted like nothing. I would not recommend this restraunt to anyone.

Mamoun's Falafel Restaurant - All questions

Address: 85 Howe St, New Haven, CT 06511, USA

I've been eating the falafel here off and on for 20 years. The quality has varied over time, but the food and service have both always been at least decent. I can't speak to the shawarma (I'm vegetarian), but this sounds like an off night rather than ongoing issue.

Mamouns is average at best. If they get busy food quality and the service for go down hill. The culture, vibe is def a Yalie, alternative feel, not Arabi. Great alternative to a diner on the way home but if you want good Middle Eastern food, Hookah your choice in New Haven should only be Mediterranean at 140 Orange St. They come correct with food, music, Hookah and Culture that's authentic.

Honestly i think it was an off day as well i recently went there when they were completely slammed inside the restaurant and outside where they do the hookah and still managed to get a great meal along with everyone around me . I hope they tried to remediate the situation.
