That is the norm if you are in reasonably good health. You can make an appointment to see your physician anytime if you have concerns or go to urgent care if you are sick or injured anytime but you only need to get a physical once a year.
I'm not part of their staff. I'm a veterans wife. But.. in general, patients are seen more regularly if there is an actual diagnosis that has to be monitored. For example: My doctor has a minimum of every 6 months for my current ailments. High blood pressure, high cholesterol etc. If my labs are out of whack he changes to every 3 months to monitor me and when I'm back in whack (?) he goes back to 6 months
