Hey there! It depends. If you're still looking on the reptile side of things, I highly recommend a bearded dragon (if you have the space). They are very tolerant of handling and great first pets. If you don't have the space for one, I recommend a leopard gecko or a crested gecko. Both are good for beginners and there are plenty of resources available for their care. Good luck!
