Lol, very rarely there are bares. So rare that there aren't bear boxes like you'd find at Yosemite or other more rural campgrounds. This place is very populated and accommodating to those of us who would like to have a store, bathrooms and people around.

As long as you don't leave a half-eaten chocolate bar in your temporarily unoccupied camp you should able to avoid them. Even then it's most likely that a chipmunk might steal it

Altitude is too low. Bears go for highest ground. Sly Park is only 3700 foot elevation.
