Mike Miller | Sep 26, 2018

Very, very rare... Always possible

Cheri Richards | Sep 26, 2018

Lol, very rarely there are bares. So rare that there aren't bear boxes like you'd find at Yosemite or other more rural campgrounds. This place is very populated and accommodating to those of us who would like to have a store, bathrooms and people around.

Bears spotted in Sierra Springs last week!

As long as you don't leave a half-eaten chocolate bar in your temporarily unoccupied camp you should able to avoid them. Even then it's most likely that a chipmunk might steal it

Bears bears everywhere I've lived here for over 30 years you just have to be careful there's not many at the campground

S Renner | Sep 26, 2018

Been going there the last 3 years. Haven't came across one

Altitude is too low. Bears go for highest ground. Sly Park is only 3700 foot elevation.
