No, you do NOT NEED a membership card to shop at Sam's Club, however, you WILL have to pay a 10% upcharge on everything you purchase. If you are considering a membership, take the time to go there and go up and down every aisle, fill your basket, go check out and see how much the surcharge is. You might find that you will easily save the membership fee in just a few visits.
I think you can get a free 1 day pass for the first visit and they have a special sometimes on Groupon

$45 a year is not alot of money, unless your a penny pincher. And no you can not shop there without a membership. That's why it's called Sam's Club. You have to be a member.
