Why does everyone attack the buisness instead of the people doing it? Perhaps it should be an eye-opener to everyone in the community and instead of creating focus on the wrong thing ban together and focus on the right thing. The same people would take your purse if you’re in a wheelchair or steal your last can of baby formula to sell for drugs. I understand it’s offensive to feel any scrutiny when you know you are a right minded person with morals and good intentions, I’ve felt the very same way and being inconvenienced by it also and I’m not Saying that anyone’s offense is not warranted because it is, what I’m saying is that we need to take a step back as the Honest population and perhaps been together so business is big or small here don’t have the need to Do this. If we been together we can find a proactive solution And take a stand and fight the REAL problem together.

Because there are criminals out there...you walk among them. If you have nothing to hide it should not offend or bother you. SMH

I know huh...always doing the checking now

Andrew Keim | Sep 25, 2019

The difference here is Costco has a membership and receipt checking is voluntary, you can tell the ladies at the door no, and that you prefer not too. You don't have to legally show them your receipts! At Costco you have too, it's required. Walmart writes off theft on taxes, so it makes no sense to pursue petty theft. They just need to show they are making an attempt to prevent shrinkage of inventory. So what pisses me off is that instead of eating the costs they treat 99% of the customers like criminals checking receipts, etc... we suffer because of the 1%it's a very bad business model.

Just be patient that's all I have to say that's pretty sad if you complain over cinnamon so they can unlock the door they're tired and they work

I do not work at Wal-Mart nor have I ever. But as a retail associate at other places they are trying to keep shoplifting to a minimum to try to keep their prices low. The stupid law doesn't let them do much. Yes! It might be an inconvenience!! But all retail stores are trying to keep their prices down. But the more that they shoplift, the more the store loses and they have to raise their pricea. Blame the shoplifters and the law! Not the retail stores! Or the employees!! They are just doing their jobs! Costco has been doing this and no one complains! Same thing!!

They could do away with all the checks, but when your 5 dollar item now costs 10 dollars because of theft, you'll complain about that too. Just show the receipt and be on your way.

To the lady whose service dog was taken from her, you need to contact a civil rights attorney and explain what was done.

Angela Velazquez | Sep 25, 2019

My granddaughter has a service dog and we came in a manager was so rude that said that we need to hold him while we were in the store I'm an elder person and my granddaughter is pregnant we try ti explain he did not listen and he asked us to leave HIS STORE. HE probable does not know the laws about having a support dog. We left because he made us leave we are posting his rudeness to the whole community and we are looking into this legally.

So since Wal-Mart's theft has increased as well as the whole shopping center they decided to put an end to.

The Amethyst Kitchen | Sep 25, 2018

David Page | Sep 25, 2019

Cause when the store takes a loss for the year I'd stop everyone too. DTA don't trust anyone.

And besides my privacy was never intended to be a tool for me to use to hide, it is for protection, period. To conflate that if someone is being moral, they then should therefore be available to discard with the formalities of privacy as a right at the whim of what I can only assume are overworked & underpaid & maybe under appreciated store associates, is not how it works nor is it ideal. Make no mistake about it I do not condone shoplifting. People who go around and state stuff in direct contradiction to right to privacy in the United States of America haven’t really considered what it actually means, to make matters worse you potentially get your fellow citizen to also give up his/hers up in the name of if your haven’t then you don’t have nothing to worry about, which is a categorically false notion to believe. Lastly that costs get handed to the consumer is a fallacy, the profits are what took a hit so therefore the consumer is on the hook is an oversimplification but basically yup.

Because Lom poc. Is loaded with shoppers that don't want to pay for the products they have in their possession.

James Price | Sep 24, 2020

No other retail market makes you show your receipt. Walmart put in self-check out to save money on personnel. The machines don't need health care or get upset if you change their hours for no reason, making it hard to take a second job. With self check out the opportunity for theft goes up. I don't go to Walmart because of this and other issues about the way they treat their employees.
